SHINE supports, educates and empowers young girls with life skills and tools that ensures their future is in their hands. SHINE is based on the belief that true generational change starts with the empowerment of young girls .
This amazing program is run at John Willcock College in a specially designed salon.
In this program it educates the students who are often classified as the most at risk of disengaging from education learn essential life skills, physical and emotional wellbeing, problem solving, effective communication skills, anger management, dealing with stress and healthy relationships and so many other important skills.
All the girls are encouraged to strive and form independence and pride for the salon and towards themselves and their greater community. Past students have become confident, healthy and happy and successful and important people contributing in our society.
As of August 2012 we now have amazing board and are in the process of registering SHINE to independent NFP status. Education revolution here we come!
